I’ve posted this on some of my forums before, but, I thought I’d post it here as well. It seems like everybody is looking for ways to make a million dollars. It’s a nice round number and after all, who couldn’t use a spare million? I was brainstorming a while back and realistically a million dollars is not that difficult to earn (in concept). Most people look for ways to earn it all at once instead of looking for ways to earn it piece by piece over time. It’s all about getting yourself motivated enough to get the ball rolling. Many people never get to this point, but, you don’t have to become a statistic. You can take control of your future by selling niche items on eBay.

My answer to that is chapstick. Why chapstick? Well any small item will work but lets use chapstick for example. A tube costs $2.00 at a gas station and around 80 cents to $1.00 at a grocery store. That’s more than a dollar fluctuation in price. That means that TECHNICALLY if you had the means to sell chapstick to a large market you could potentially make a million dollars by selling a million tubes. That’s only the price difference from two retail prices. Imagine if you could buy in wholesale and bulk?

Now I understand that chapstick isn’t the best niche to be in. It’s obviously a product that does well sitting near the cash register, so making a “Chapstick Store” is not where you will make your million dollars. The idea of this example is to get you thinking though. If you can find a niche item and buy it in bulk, why not sell it on eBay? The business model from wholesale to retail is pretty simple and easy to understand. Most people aren’t willing to motivate themselves to try something new, but, if you can turn a profit for an item, and find a way to market that item or create an increased demand for it then you’ll soon be well on your way to becoming a millionaire.
